1. Seven Class A teams [and six Class B teams] will qualify for the state tournament by winning the championship of their respective district tournaments.
2. One additional Class A team [and two additional Class B teams, which fail to qualify though district tournament competition], will be chosen to complete the eight-team tournament field.
3. THE EIGHT WINNERS OF THE CLASS B SUBSTATE GAMES WILL ADAVANCE TO THE STATE TOURNAMENT.

Class B schools will be divided into [six (6)] EIGHT (8) districts geographically. The NSAA staff will create these districts and select hosts. [Girls’ districts will have 4-six team districts and 2-seven team districts. Boys’ districts will have 6-six-team districts The winner of each district will qualify for the state tournament.] One additional boys' teams and one additional girls' teams in Class A which fail to qualify by winning the district will qualify as wild card teams. [Two additional boys' teams and two additional girls' teams in Class B which fail to qualify by winning the district will qualify as wild card teams.]
IN CLASS B ONLY, THE DISTRICT TOURNAMENT WILL BE PLAYED STARTING ON SATURDAY OF WEEK 43 AND MUST BE CONCLUDED BY TUESDAY OF WEEK 44. THE WINNERS OF THE 8 DISTRICTS PLUS THE TEAMS WITH THE EIGHT HIGHEST WILD CARD POINT TOTALS (USING THE NSAA WILD CARD POINT SYSTEM) WILL ADVANCE TO THE SUB-STATE QALIFYING ROUND. SUB-STATE ROUND THE EIGHT (8) DISTRICT TOURNAMENT WINNERS AND THE EIGHT (8) WILD CARD TEAMS WILL BE SEEDED USING THE NSAA WILD CARD SYSTEM AS FOLLOWS:
1 VS. 16 2 VS. 15 3 VS 14 4 VS 13 5 VS. 12 6 VS. 11 7 VS 10 8 VS 9
THE SUB-STATE GAME MUST BE PLAYED ON FRIDAY OR SATURDAY OF WEEK 44. THE HIGHER SEED SHALL BE THE HOME TEAM. IN THE EVENT THAT ONE TEAM WOULD HAVE TO TRAVEL OVER 200 MILES ONE-WAY, THE SCHOOLS MUST MUTUALLY AGREE TO PLAY THE CONTEST AT A NEUTRAL SITE. THE EIGHT (8) WINNERS OF THE SUB-STATE GAMES SHALL ADVANCE TO THE STATE TOURNAMENT.

Class B schools will be divided into eight (8) districts geographically. The NSAA staff will create these districts and select hosts. One additional boys' teams and one additional girls' teams in Class A which fail to qualify by winning the district will qualify as wild card teams. In Class B only, the district tournament will be played starting on Saturday of week 43 and must be concluded by Tuesday of week 44. The winners of the 8 districts plus the teams with the eight (8) highest wild card point totals (using the NSAA wildcard point system) will advance to the Sub State qualifying round.
Sub-State Round The eight (8) district tournament winners and the eight (8) wildcard teams will be seeded using the NSAA Wildcard point system as follows:
1 vs 16 2 vs 15 3 vs 14 4 vs 13 5 vs 12 6 vs 11 7 vs 10 8 vs 9
The sub-state game must be played on Friday or Saturday of week 44. The higher seed shall be the home team. In the event that one team would have to travel over 200 miles one-way, the schools must mutually agree to play the contest at a neutral site. The eight (8) winners of the sub-state games shall advance to the State Tournament.
