Radio and Television

1. Broadcasting, recording, photographing, videotaping, or televising of NSAA-sponsored events shall not be permitted for commercial purposes, or for other than personal use, except with the expressed permission of the Nebraska School Activities Association. Telecasting of a Sub-district or District tournament, on a live basis, is prohibited.

2. Telecasting of a State Football Playoff game on a live basis EXCEPT VIA INTERNET STREAMING is prohibited FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES ONLY.

3. Radio and/or internet broadcasts AND TELECASTS of State Football Playoff games shall be permitted, provided ample space is available for the broadcast crew(s).

4. It is the decision of the teams in the State Football Playoffs if a broadcast fee is to be charged. The practice of charging a broadcast fee is discouraged; however, if a fee is charged, the competing schools shall set the amount of the fee, not to exceed $50 per State Playoff game.

5. Videotaping for delayed telecasting is permitted if the host school approves and cable stations agree to follow the NSAA delayed telecast policy.

In today's mobile and global society, it allows parents, grandparents and relatives that could not attend the opportunity to see a district or state playoff contest.
It will not be long before technology will allow anyone to sit in the stands and stream video..
