This proposal is submitted by:
Name: Neal Randel
School: Beatrice
NSAA District: 1
The proposal deals with:
Yearbook:  Article 3  Section: 11.2.1  Page: 13
Activities Manual: Baseball  Page: 1
The section/paragraph/sentence indicates what is to be added/deleted/changed to the current Bylaw/Approved Ruling:
ADDITIONS are in all capital letters. (Changes/Deletions are in parentheses.)

3.11.2.1 NO TEAM REPRESENTING A MEMBER SCHOOL MAY PARTICIPATE IN MORE THAN SEVENTEEN DATES IN ADDITION TO THE STATE SPONSORED SERIES OF TOURNAMENTS FROM THE DATE OF THE FIRST PERMITTED CONTEST TO THE CLOSE OF THE STATE BASEBALL TOURNAMENT. PARTICIPATION IN ANY BASEBALL TOURNAMENT SHALL COUNT AS ONE DATE OF THE SEVENTEEN DATES PERMITTED IN WHICH THE TEAM PARTICIPATES. A TEAM MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN MORE THAN FIVE TOURNAMENTS, WHICH INCLUDES THE CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT.
The section/paragraph/sentence that needs to be added/deleted/changed would read as follows:
3.11.2.1 No team representing a member school may participate in more than seventeen dates in addition to the state sponsored series of tournaments from the date of the first permitted contest to the close of the State Baseball Tournament. Participation in any baseball tournament shall count as one date of the seventeen dates permitted in which the team participates. A team may not participate in more than five tournaments, which includes the conference tournament.
Cost Analysis of Proposal:
None
Rationale for the proposed change:
Presently there is no limit to the number of baseball games teams may play. This proposal places a restriction on baseball with a schedule limitation similar to softball. It would keep students in class more. It would provide uniformity among all schools sponsoring baseball.
